Former eBay, Maven, NetGenesis Executive Joins as Executive Vice President of Business Development, Sales and Client Services
NEW YORK — KickApps Corporation, the leading provider of enterprise class branded user generated content and social networking solutions for major media companies and high trafficked Web sites, announced that David George has joined as executive vice president of business development, sales and client services. In this role, he will be responsible for the execution of the company's customer facing operations.
Prior to joining KickApps, David was the vice president of worldwide sales and alliances at Maven Networks, which developed and sold a broadband video platform to major media companies and global brands. He joined Maven via eBay where he served as the international director for Maven's strategic partnership division. There, he initiated, built and scaled the company's international strategic partnership organization to Europe and the Asia Pacific region. David joined eBay through its acquisition of FairMarket, a publicly traded company, which provided white label auction-based programs for community loyalty to major brands. At FairMarket, David was responsible for worldwide sales and marketing.
Prior to FairMarket, David held executive level positions at NetGenesis where he helped grow the company from a startup, through IPO and successful acquisition. His roles included vice president of corporate development, vice president of sales/general manager for European Operations and vice president of worldwide channel sales. In this capacity, he established revenue producing partnerships with organizations such as IBM Global Services, Digitas, DoubleClick, Vignette, Interwoven, Oracle and Sun Microsystems.
"We are thrilled to attract such a talented and experienced executive to our team," said Alex Blum, CEO of KickApps. "David brings a unique combination of successful experiences in our industry, within large organizations and early stage startups that will be critical as we grow all aspects of our business."
Throughout his career, David has established successful business relationships with major media and entertainment companies and global brands such as 20th Century Fox, Anhueser Busch, AETN, BBC, Coca-Cola, Disney, Nike, Pepsi, Sony Pictures and the Weather Channel. "He has extensive experience building out organizations domestically and internationally to successfully support the needs of a scaling business and its customers directly and through partners," said Blum.
"Many of the media customers I have worked with over the years have been trying to figure out how to leverage their own community and user generated media to improve their visitors' experience, drive affinity to their content/brand, and drive new revenue opportunities," said David George. "KickApps has the right platform at the right time in the market. It provides the scalable architecture necessary to meet our clients' evolving needs, but is easy to use so customers big and small can leverage our innovative and unique technology today."
